FAQs

Why ‘Traces of Rock’?
Because we’d like to warn you: May Contain Traces of Rock.
Warning! May contain traces of rock.
What’s ‘flock’?
Flock is a type of printing material. It has a velvety look and feel, and is thicker than the usual print. It’s only available in white, black or red. We haven’t got it in silver or glow in the dark.

I’m not sure what size to order.
Please refer to our sizing charts.

Why do I get transferred to PayPal when I place my order?
Orders are processed through a secure site that is linked to Traces of Rock. The Traces of Rock site does not hold your card details at any point in the transaction. If you already have a PayPal account set up for a well known bidding site, you can use this to place Traces of Rock orders.

How much is the postage and packing?
For the UK, the postage and packing is £2.50 for your first item plus £0.50 per additional item. So if you order one babygrow, you’ll pay £2.50. If you order 2 t-shirts and a babygrow, you’ll pay £3.50.
For international orders, it’s £5.00 for your first item plus £0.50 per additional item.

How long will it take for my t-shirts and babygrows to arrive?
All orders are dispatched by First Class post within 3 working days of receipt.

What happens to my personal details?
Nothing, beyond using them to dispatch your order.

Can I send you a picture of my child wearing one of your t-shirts?
We’d love to see it! Send us the picture as a JPEG to pictures@tracesofrock.com Please be aware that, if you send us your child’s picture, we’ll assume your agreement to its being displayed on the Traces of Rock website.

Who’s Bernard?
Bernard is a rock cat, and he’s our mascot and model at Traces of Rock. Along with meeting Tommy Lee, Bon Jovi and other cutting edge rock stars, one of Bernard’s ambitions is to travel to Mauritius to meet the lovely people who make the Fairtrade t-shirts and babygrows for Traces of Rock. Bernard is a modern sort of cat, and he’s on Myspace and Facebook – he’d love to be your friend! He’s not on Twitter yet, but Chazza is. Have a look for traces_of_rock.
Bernard
Bernard was designed and handmade by the Traces of Rock team. There’s only one Bernard, and he’s not for sale!

Do your babygrows look like what Bernard’s wearing on the pictures?
Yes and no. Bernard is our mascot and, although he is a cat, he’s also our guinea pig and model. The black babygrow with his own picture (see Home) is one of our Fairtrade babygrows. The white one he’s been wearing to gigs isn’t supplied by our Fairtrade manufacturer but has been used to test our machinery. We don’t offer white t-shirts and babygrows at the minute. Good news for carrot puree stains!

What if an item is out of stock?
Items out of stock will normally be marked as such on the web site. We aim to restock as soon as possible, though please be aware that the garments are manufactured to order by a Fairtrade producer based in another continent. At the moment we stock babygrows and t-shirts in black and red 100% Fairtrade organic cotton – in future we plan to offer white and other colours.

What is your returns policy?
Goods damaged during shipment to you: return the relevant item(s) to us by recorded delivery and we will replace free of charge.
Goods that do not fit: please refer to the sizing chart before placing your order. For various reasons, including hygiene, we cannot accept the return of goods that have been tried on.
Satisfaction: you can’t get no. If you try – and you buy – a design but just aren’t satisified, return the garment to us unworn and unwashed within 14 days of dispatch, and we will replace it up to the same value.
To err is human: if we send you the wrong order let us know as soon as you receive it and we’ll replace it.
If within the first 28 days you find that the garment is defective, return it to us and we’ll replace it.
We can’t accept responsibility for returned items that fail to reach us.
